Neurotoxin is a popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment that we use to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face. The treatment involves the injection of small amounts of a purified protein called botulinum toxin into specific muscles in the face.

What Can I Expect During the Neurotoxin Injection? 

When you visit Defy, you can expect a smooth and comfortable experience from start to finish. Before your treatment begins, your provider will take time to discuss your medical history and your goals. We’ll carefully examine your face to see which areas will benefit most from the injections and create a treatment plan tailored to you.

During the procedure, we clean the treatment areas with an antiseptic solution to keep your skin free of bacteria. Then we use fine needles to inject small amounts of neurotoxin into specific facial muscles. You might feel a slight pinch or pressure, but most people find the process tolerable. The entire process takes about 15 to 20 minutes.

You may notice a little redness, swelling, or mild tenderness at the injection sites after treatment. These side effects are normal and will fade within a few hours. Bruising can occur, but is uncommon.
