After just one treatment, patients notice significant improvements in the complexion and clarity of the skin. Lumecca can effectively treat various areas of the body, such as the face, neck, chest, hands, arms, legs, and back. What Are The Benefits Of Lumecca?
Improve Your Skin Tone And Texture
Effectively targets and reduces skin discoloration, such as sunspots, age spots, and freckles, leading to a more even skin tone. It also promotes exfoliation, helping to improve skin texture and reduce roughness.
Promote Collagen Production Deep Within The Skin
Rejuvenate the skin by stimulating collagen production through a process known as photothermolysis. This results in enhanced skin elasticity and firmness, helping you achieve a more youthful and revitalized appearance.
Non-Surgical and Safe
Lumecca is a non-surgical, non-ablative treatment, meaning it does not harm the skin’s surface. It is considered safe for most skin types and shades when performed by a qualified and experienced provider.

IPL Therapy FAQs

Am I a good candidate for Lumecca?
Lumecca is a great option for people who want to improve their skin’s tone, texture, and glow. It can also treat issues like dark spots, redness, or sun damage. If you’re looking for a non-invasive and effective way to treat common skin problems, Lumecca might be a good choice for you.
Can Lumecca treat wrinkles?
Yes, Lumecca can help treat wrinkles, but it’s not its main purpose. Lumecca is a type of IPL therapy that can treat issues like sun spots, redness, and uneven skin tone. However, it can also improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in some cases. Here’s how:
Lumecca’s light energy heats the deeper layers of your skin, which can stimulate collagen production. Collagen is a protein that keeps your skin firm and smooth, so more collagen can help reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles. By targeting pigmentation and redness, Lumecca can make your skin look brighter and more even. This can make wrinkles less noticeable.
Does IPL therapy hurt?
Many people describe IPL treatment as a quick snapping or rubber band sensation against the skin. Some areas might feel warmer than others. This discomfort is mild and brief. If you’re sensitive to pain, we can use a cooling gel or numbing cream to make it more comfortable. After the treatment, your skin might feel warm or slightly tender, like a mild sunburn, but this will go away within a few hours.
Why can’t I tan before IPL treatment?
IPL targets the pigment (color) in your skin or hair. When you tan, your skin produces more melanin which can make it harder to focus on the right areas.
Tanned skin absorbs more of the IPL light. This can cause your skin to overheat, leading to burns, blisters, or dark spots. Also, if some parts of your skin are tanned and others aren’t, the IPL might not work evenly. This can leave you with patchy or inconsistent results.
Why can’t I use Accutane before IPL therapy?
Accutane is a strong medication used to treat acne, but it also makes your skin thinner and more delicate. This can make your skin more likely to get irritated or damaged during IPL. Because Accutane makes your skin more sensitive, the light energy from IPL can cause burns, blisters, or even scarring.
Skin treated with Accutane takes longer to heal. If you do IPL while on Accutane, your skin might not recover as quickly, leading to more discomfort or complications.
We recommend that you wait at least 6 months after stopping Accutane before getting IPL. This gives your skin time to return to its normal thickness and sensitivity.
Can I use retinol after Lumecca treatment?
We recommend that you retinol directly after Lumecca treatment. Lumecca uses light energy to treat your skin, which can make it more sensitive for a few days. Retinol is a strong ingredient that can irritate your skin when it’s already sensitive from the treatment.
Using retinol too soon after Lumecca can cause redness, dryness, or peeling, which can slow down your healing process. We recommend that you wait at least 5–7 days after Lumecca before using retinol or other strong skincare products. Stick to gentle cleansers, moisturizers, and sunscreen to help your skin heal.
Will IPL work for my skin type?
IPL works best on people with fair to medium skin tones because the laser targets pigment (color). If the laser can’t tell the difference between your skin and the hair or spots it’s trying to treat, it can increase the risk of burns or discoloration.
IPL is most effective on dark hair (like brown or black) because it has more pigment for the laser to target. It doesn’t work well on light blonde, gray, or red hair. Some patients may benefit from a different type of laser treatment, like Nd:YAG.
How long do IPL results last?
The results of IPL treatments can last from several months to a year depending on the treatment and your skin. Factors like your skin type, the condition being treated, and how well you take care of your skin afterward can affect how long the results last.
For things like skin rejuvenation or pigmentation treatment, you might need maintenance treatments every 6 to 12 months to keep your skin looking its best.
