Mara has enjoyed a career in healthcare with a variety of experience spanning 20 years. Her focus over the recent years has been in functional medicine, providing care that heals the root cause, rather than treating symptoms.
She brings to Defy her functional medicine expertise and relevant knowledge and skills in treating gut health, administering peptide therapies, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy as well as weight loss management.
A board-certified family nurse practitioner, Hannah brings over 14 years of diverse healthcare experience to her patients at Defy of Indiana. Her passion is root cause medicine and personalized nutrition. Finding the source of the symptoms and treating holistically to allow healing of the body, mind, and soul.
To her core, Hannah believes that everyone deserves to feel their best and to find a provider that listens, deeply cares, believes in them, and empowers them to achieve all of their health and wellness goals.
Haley Cook is a dedicated and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience in integrative and functional medicine. With over a decade of nursing experience and certifications from the School of Applied Functional Medicine, A4M, and Biote, Haley specializes in hormone therapy, peptide therapy, gut health, thyroid optimization, and weight management.
Her clinical expertise is complemented by her passion for empowering patients to achieve optimal health through personalized treatment plans, emphasizing the importance of lifestyle changes and sustainable habits. She believes in approaching each patient with empathy and a focus on long term well-being while integrating evidence-based practices with functional medicine strategies, ensuring her patients receive comprehensive and effective care.
Outside of her professional life, Haley enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys traveling, reading, and taking long walks with her mini goldendoodle. Haley also practices yoga and somatic exercises to maintain a balanced and grounded lifestyle.
A Board Certified Internal Medicine physician, Tina brings 20+ years of experience in treating acute and chronic illnesses. Tina has served as the medical director and liaison for several hospital networks and individual medical practices.

Ella brings a thoughtful blend of expertise, artistry, and genuine care to her role at Defy of Indiana. With a strong foundation in skin health and transformation, she specializes in medical esthetics, where creativity meets clinical precision.
For the past 13 years, Ella has worked across both medical and spa settings, developing a well-rounded, patient-centered approach to skincare. Her experience includes extensive time in a medical cosmetic surgical practice, where she helped patients address a wide range of skin concerns through personalized, results-driven treatment plans, as well as work in a luxury spa environment, refining her ability to pair advanced esthetic treatments with an elevated patient experience.
Ella is known for her calm, attentive approach. She takes the time to truly listen—understanding each patient’s skin concerns, goals, and lifestyle—so she can create a customized roadmap to healthier, more radiant skin. She believes esthetic care is about more than treatments; it’s about education, confidence, and feeling comfortable in your own skin.
Her favorite part of her work is helping patients feel heard, supported, and confident that they’re on the right path toward their best skin yet.
Dr. Amy Marckese is the owner of DentalSpa, a leading general and cosmetic dental office in Indianapolis. Over the last two decades, she has built a practice focusing on customer service and patient experience. Almost three years ago, she was “sick and tired of feeling sick and tired.” She went to multiple doctors who told her, “this is just part of going through menopause.”
She was tired all of the time, cried a lot, was in a horrible mood, had no sex drive and was 100 pounds overweight — on the verge of being diabetic. She was simply no longer the person she used to be inside or out.
